What is a Worship Team?

Our Core Values:

We are a vibrant and dedicated group of musicians, vocalists, and technicians who are passionate about leading others into an authentic and transformative worship experience. Our team at Ethnos Community Church is committed to using their God-given talents to glorify God and inspire the congregation through music and worship.

1. Worship and Honor God: At the heart of everything we do in our lives is a desire to worship and honor God. We aim to create an environment where everyone can encounter His presence and respond in adoration and praise.

2. Excellence: We strive for excellence in our musical and technical abilities, understanding that we are offering our best to God. This involves continuous improvement, practice, and commitment to high standards in all aspects of our ministry. We might be a small group for now, but we always act as if we have a full band with all the bells and whistles to be prepared for when that time comes!

3. Unity and Teamwork: We believe in the power of unity and teamwork. Our team members support and encourage each other, working together harmoniously to create a cohesive worship experience. We value diversity and recognize the unique contributions of everyone.

4. Servanthood: We are here to serve both God and our congregation. Our attitude is one of humility and willingness to serve in whatever capacity is needed, always putting the needs of others before our own.

5. Spiritual Growth: We are committed to our own spiritual growth and discipleship. We spend time in prayer, devotionals, and fellowship, ensuring that our hearts and minds are aligned with God's will and purpose for our lives.

6. Authenticity: We aim to lead worship with authenticity and sincerity, fostering an atmosphere where people feel free to express their genuine emotions and connect with God on a personal level.

7. Innovation and Creativity: We embrace innovation and creativity in our worship. Whether it is through new songs, different musical styles, or unique worship elements, we seek to create a dynamic and accessible worship experience. This may sometimes involve singing in different languages like Spanish, Portuguese, Korean, Hindi, or any other known language. Also, sometimes we write our own music. Do you have any ideas? Bring them over! We are happy to collaborate and come up with something great and God-honoring!

8. Community and Outreach: Our worship extends beyond the church walls! We are committed to reaching out to our community in Flower Mound, sharing God's love through music and service, and being a positive influence in the world around us.

By embodying these core values, our Worship Team aims to create a worship experience that is meaningful, powerful, and life-changing, leading others closer to God. Forget about the lights, the fog, the stage, and all the production elements. This is a space for you to worship with your heart and honor God freely!

Auditions

Consider yourself a part of the Worship Team already! However, Auditions are important to us! They help us determine the best place for you to serve in the band. It gives us a perspective of your musical ability, and it helps us choose a better setlist for you. Also, it is a growth opportunity, as we can talk about tips while being on stage, and how to make your performance better. It gives you the opportunity to show us all your talents and range of musical skills. This diversity can bring fresh creativity and innovation to the worship team. We don't get to do that at rehearsals or live during the service, so this is the time to show us all your musical talents!

Whether you are singing or playing a musical instrument, we have selected three songs for you to rehearse and present during your audition whenever you feel ready. Please listen to them carefully.

*Note for Vocalists: Please learn the lead vocal and the harmonies for all three songs.
